Meet only if you want to

A meeting is a choice, not a debt. Meet only the people you want, when you want.

Confirm who they are

Make sure they are the person in the photos. Talk on a call first, ideally with video.

Tell someone where you are

Tell a friend where you are going, who you are meeting, and when you plan to be back.

Meet in public

Pick a public place you know, especially on a first date. Daytime or early evening is easier to leave.

Use your own transport

Get there yourself. If you still get in their car, send a photo of the plate to a friend.

Keep your phone charged

Keep the phone charged and stay sober enough to leave. Watch your drink and your bag.

Have an exit

You can leave at any time. A friend who will call, and your own way home, makes that easy.

Stay in public the first time

Do not go to their home, a hotel, or a second private place on the first meeting.
